YouTube is a video sharing site
that is widely used for sharing videos. Maybe you are familiar with this one
site. But do you know who and when YouTube was founded?
The YouTube site was founded by
former PayPal workers, Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim in February
2005. Reporting from Wikipedia, this site later turned into Google's property
in late 2006 until now.
Most of the content on this site
is uploaded by individuals. However, several media companies such as CBS, BBC,
Vevo, Hulu and several other companies broadcast their material through this
website as a form of cooperation program.
Hurley and Chen first came up with
the idea to set up the site because they were having trouble sharing the video.
YouTube itself started to become a technology startup after receiving an
investment from Sequola Capital of USD 11.5 million.
